Langerhans Symposium 2024 Unforgettable presentation experience created with AI
Location - Beatrix Theater, Utrecht
Audiovisual Partner since 2020
Stichting Langerhans was founded in 2003 by five physicians with an interest in diabetes, with the goal of increasing diabetes knowledge among colleagues. The annual symposium is a highlight of the foundation’s calendar. Faber has been the audiovisual partner of the event since 2020, which was then held at the Virtual Event Studio due to the corona pandemic. After this, the symposium has been held in hybrid form at venues such as Theater De Spiegel, Tivoli Utrecht and the Beatrix Theater.
AI-generated content for a unique experience
For the 20th edition at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht, the organization decided to take an innovative approach and have Paul Langerhans speak at the symposium. Paul Langerhans, a German pathologist and physiologist (1847-1888), discovered the “islets of Langerhans” in the pancreas, which has been crucial for further knowledge about diabetes and for which the foundation is named.
Faber’s Creative Services was given complete freedom to realize this idea and used advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop an innovative animation in which Paul Langerhans virtually appeared and welcomed the guests. The process began with a portrait photo of Langerhans, using AI to add his mouth and bring the photo to life with movement. AI was also used to generate an appropriate voice, resulting in a compelling animation. This unique approach gave the event a personal and special character that far surpassed traditional presentation methods. The program was interspersed with musical interludes, top speakers and cabaret.
Technical support and production
In addition to developing content, Faber also provided technical support and realization of the program, including sound and video technology. We also provided image direction for both the hall registration and the live stream, where more than 1.100 digital visitors watched.
Thanks to regular coordination between the Faber team and Stichting Langerhans and the use of AI by our specialists, the 20th edition of the Langerhans Symposium distinguished itself by providing a unique and unforgettable experience with an important message.
